Encrypting email from office web and office 365 desktop application
1. dphencrypt
When sending an email add the word "dphencrypt" to the subject line separated by at least one space between the next word in the subject. This works in both office 365 web and desktop applications.
2. Recalling a message
This method is usually only useful if it is used within the first few minutes of sending an email and all recipients use the .ga.gov suffix in their email.
1. Recalling a message from the outlook web based client.
If you launch email from a desktop shortcut that resembles a browser (edge, Chrome), then you are using the outlook web based client.
- Click on the sent items folder
- Select the email that you want to recall
- Click on the 3 dotes menu for the email
- Select advanced actions -> recall this message
2. Recall a message from the outlook desktop application. If you launch outlook from an icon that resembles a standard outlook icon (not a web browser), then use this method.
1. Select Sent Items in the left folder pane, then double-click the sent message to open it in a separate window.
2. From the ribbon, select The Recall Message button. Recall Message, then select OK in the confirmation dialog box.
3. Shortly thereafter, you'll receive a Message Recall Report in your inbox. Select the link in that message to see whether your recall has succeeded, is pending, or failed.
